Yes, I grew something!

I know you can't believe it, but I am growing a tiny garden this year. I mean tiny because most of the things I planted didn't work, oops. But, my zucchini plant is huge and here's our first one. We ate it last night for dinner and it was delicious. I also have 3 tomato plants. I hope I learned enough from this experience to do a better job next year.

Family Reunion

Jim's family had a reunion at the beginning of August. They camped in Hobble Creek Canyon for a few nights (and we slept in our lovely beds at home) and we all enjoyed a lot of family activities. It was a very nice weekend.

Slip N Slide

Liam and Gavin went Slip N Sliding with Trevan at Melissa's yesterday. I didn't think Gavin would like it, but he LOVED it. He laughed and laughed, until he fell at the bottom and bumped his head.

After bumping his head Gavin decided it was more fun to drink the water. Liam and Trevan had to dodge him on their way down.

Liam is a great helper. He always takes very good care of Gavin.

Liam gets his Webelos!

Liam earned his Webelos on July 30th. He has only been in since the beginning of May, but has a very motivated den leader. Our primary is pretty big and this is his den.

Liam got to put on the "mother's pin". I'm glad I wore layers to that I didn't get poked.

We are very proud of Liam! He's a good scout.

President Monson

Please forgive the horrible filming. I was trying to get the shot and help Liam get by to the end of the row so that he could see President Monson better. Melissa, Liam, my grandma Prestwich and I were sitting just a few rows back from the stage, but all the way to the side. At first we thought we had bad seats, but we then realized that we would be able to see all of the general authorities come in and out. Liam was so excited to be able to see the Prophet up close.

My dad, Andrea, Melissa, Jackie, Stephen, Stephen's mom, Grandma Prestwich, Liam, and I all went up to see the Pioneer Day concert with "The Osmonds" at the Conference Center. The trip was great and the choir was great and seeing President Monson was great, but the Osmonds - not that great.

24th of July at my dad's

My dad is lucky enough to live just above a neighborhood that puts on an incredible firework show every 24th of July. They have a huge party and loud music playing and we just enjoy the view. Even when there are no fireworks, he has a nice little view of the Mt. Timp Temple.

My family, Liam's friend Ben, Andrea and Chris, and my dad watched the firework show. Jackie and Stephen came over for a while, but had to leave before the show. It was a fun night.

Liam's Tennis Lessons

Liam and his best friend, Ben, have been taking tennis lessons at the park next to their school. Their teacher is in the background.

They just finished their 3rd session today and will start the next level next week. Liam can only do one more session because soccer will be starting (actually practice has already started).

Gavin had fun playing at the park while we waited for Liam.

I got an e-mail today with this picture of Liam. He's having a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to him coming home tonight.

4th of July Parade in Provo

Look how happy everyone is to be up early and at the 4th of July parade.

At least we didn't have to get up as early as Andrea and Melissa. They did the 5K before the parade. Andrea stayed and watched with us, but Melissa had to head home to take care of her kids.

Liam had fun watching what was on its way.

Gavin actually seemed to like this parade better than the one in Orem last month. Maybe it was because this time he wasn't tired.

Since Gavin woke up so late we had to hurry and do breakfast at the parade. At least I was able to find a spot yesterday so that we didn't have to stress this morning. People are crazy and this place is PACKED.

8 Little Quirks!

Thanks a lot Andrea for tagging me and making me do it.

1. I have a serious problem when it comes to lines. I cannot stand it when a line is not formed properly because I don’t trust that the store clerk will know who was next and there are always lame people that go ahead of others because they think they are better!!!

2. If there is a light on that nobody is using I have to turn it off. The light that is over the stairs to the basement is always left on and it drives me crazy. TURN IT OFF WHEN YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM. And, if it’s light outside and you can see, don’t turn it on at all.

3. When there is any kind of event, I have to check to see what everyone is wearing because I’m paranoid of matching their outfit.

4. I check my keys several times before I’ll close the house or car door. Even if I pay close attention and watch myself put them in my purse, I check again.

5. I cannot make myself pay full price for clothes - mine or the kid’s. It could by $110 marked down to $20 and I’ll buy it, but if it’s regularly $20 I won’t buy it because I want to wait until it’s on sale.

6. I have store checkout anxiety. I stress over which line will be fastest, even if I’m not in a hurry. I pay attention to who I would have been behind in the other lines to see if I picked the best line. I guess that kind of goes with #1.

7. When we go out to eat I watch the parking lot to see if others are heading in too. I hurry really fast so that I can get there before them so I don’t have to wait as long. Maybe that kind of goes with #1 & #6.

8. When I’m eating with more than just myself I have to have some kind of background noise. If I can hear people chewing or their teeth hitting together I can’t stand it. I almost have to leave the table and come back when they are done.

I guess I'll tag Suzanne.

Cascade Dance Festival 2008

Today is Liam's last full day of school (he has to go tomorrow for 1 1/2 hrs.). So, it was the DANCE FESTIVAL. I was excited because this was the 1st year that I was able to go, I've always had to work. Gavin and I found a seat right behind him.

They needed cool sunglasses for their dances. They did YMCA and a techno type cha cha that was pretty good. Liam even danced well instead of trying to do the minimum on movements. Luckily he was right in front for my video camera.

Gavin tried to enjoy his time outside, but we had to keep him in the shade. He tried very hard to be out of his stroller so it was a bit of a fight.

It was a little long for babies and he needed to cuddle up to his favorite sleeping blankie.

Check out my Slide Show!

Liam's 10th Birthday!

Liam turned 10 on April 24th. He was able to celebrate several times. First, he had a party on the 19th while visiting his grandparents in Kentucky during spring break.

Then, Liam had his friend party at Trafalga after school on his birthday.

When we got to Trafalga it was SNOWING, but I thought "no problem, there's an indoor course". Well, the indoor course was closed for remodeling. Luckily, while we were waiting for the kids it cleared up and they were able to play outside. It was even fairly warm. The only problem was that several of the holes were full of water (as you can see behind Liam). The boys loved it though and had a good time golfing through the water.

After his friend party my family came over for dinner and cake. Liam loaded up on the presents and money!

Here are a few family pictures from his birthday. I can't believe he is ten, that must make me...25, right?

On Saturday Jim's family came over to have dinner and celebrate Liam's birthday. Our house just doesn't seem to hold both of our families comfortably. So, this was a week long event for him.

Gavin in the hospital

Our poor Gavin became sick very suddenly on Monday night. He couldn't hold anything down and by the next morning was very pale and lethargic. We made an appointment and took him to the pediatrician at 2:00 on Tuesday. Dr. Later walked in and said "we're going to the hospital" before he even asked us a single question. He could just tell that he was very dehydrated. His nurse walked us over (the office is attached to the Provo hospital) and he was admitted. They gave him an IV, but it took 4 tries to get it because he was so dehydrated.

They expected him to feel better within 4 or 5 hours and planned to keep him overnight to make sure. But, he ended up getting a high fever. They ran several tests, but could never figure out what it was. Every test came back negative.

He did a lot of sleeping. Unfortunately for me, the pull out bed was not so comfy. He also did a lot of crying when a nurse would come in. He had them poking him so much that he just knew something bad was going to happen when they came in.

By Wednesday evening his fever had broken and he started feeling a little better. On Thursday morning he would finally eat and drink, even though it wasn't much. But, he was hydrated, eating, and the fever was gone so they let us take him home. He's still sick, but we hope he'll be completely better soon.

Gavin's 1st Birthday Party

Here a the cake shots from his party. We had both sides of the family over that night for dinner and cake. It was a great, but crowded, time.

Gavin is ONE!

Jackie took a few pictures for his birthday, but it's VERY hard to get a one year old to hold still for pictures. He kept standing up and running away.

Silly Faces

Gavin has plenty of slobber left.

Superbaby loves to cook. This is his favorite utensil.

Here's a big kiss.

Finally he's going to take a break. Gavin is very entertaining!

Christmas 2007

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. I thought I'd put a couple of pictures on the site.

Christmas Concert

Liam and I went with my family to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert on Dec. 13th. It was wonderful as always.

Kid's Pictures

My sister Jackie took some pictures of the kids for my Christmas gift. They turned out really well and show their personalities.
